This year’s Neighborhood Preservation Community Fair was a success. Multiple outside organizations and internal City Departments gathered early Saturday morning to bring resources, information and giveaways to the residents of the City of Ontario.
Our Healthy Ontario booth provided information about new TCC projects and mental health resources. We also conducted surveys for our Active Transportation program to gather input on walking and biking in the City. Our Engineering Department, Mobility Division gathered over 200 surveys that will help identify areas that need improvements for complete and safe sidewalks, bike routes and bus shelters.
Our promotoras team also had a booth where they provided information about our free nutrition classes, ZumUp! Zumba classes, and our walking club. Our ZumUp! team were part of the entertainment group and presented a class to the community.
Huerta del Valle community garden was giving out free seasonal, organic vegetables to residents who visited their booth and provided information about new gardening projects.
Thank you to everyone who attended the Neighborhood Preservation Community Fair and joined our City Departments and outside organizations!
Healthy Ontario wants to thank Caramel Connections and Executive Director Elizabeth McSwain for the donation of the two bicycles. The winners were excited and happy for their new bikes!
