We know the time to celebrate is here, and Healthy Ontario encourages you to stay Healthy this 4th of July!
Here are a few tips from us.
Our Healthy Ontario Initiative encourages Healthy Eating and Active Living. This year you can participate by having a healthy 4th of July celebration with your family and friends.
Fun activities you can include: Dancing, a stroll, swimming and sports.
Include veggies and fruits in your meal, practice portion control and remember to stay hydrated!

Fun Recipe: 4th of July Fruit Wands
- Total Time: 15 minutes
- Servings: 20
- What you need:
- Star cookie cutter
- Bamboo Skewers
- Ingredients:
- 1 whole watermelon
- 16 ounces of fresh blueberries
- Instructions
- Cut watermelon vertically into 1 inch thick slices.
- Use a small star cookie cutter to cut out star shapes from the flesh of each watermelon.
- Thread 7-10 blueberries into the center of each bamboo skewer, leaving enough space at the end for someone to be able to comfortably hold it, and a space at the top for the watermelon star.
- Place the watermelon star on top and set the fruit sparklers on a serving tray.

TIME: 9:00AM – 10:30AM
LOCATION: 4th Street and Euclid Avenue. Proceeds South Euclid Avenue to B Street
PARKING: Spectators may park on any side of the street south of 4th Street or on the West or East side of Euclid.
4th of July Fireworks Show
TIME:
The gates will open at 5:00PM.
Fireworks show begins at 9:00PM and ends at approximately by 9:25PM.
LOCATION:
Westwind Park: 2455 East Riverside Dr and Whispering Lakes Golf Course
PARKING:
Parking is available at Whispering Lakes Golf Course. Shuttle transportation is available from the Ontario Police Department parking lot, 2500 S. Archibald Avenue beginning at 4:00PM and concludes at approximately 10:00PM. There are minimal spaces available at Westwind Park with a handicapped placard.
OTHER INFORMATION:
Blankets, lawn chairs, EZ-ups and ice chests are permitted and will be checked at the gate.
Live entertainment will be performed by the band ACE beginning at 6:00PM. KOLA 99.9 broadcasts patriotic music during the Fireworks.
Carnival games, bouncers/small rides and food vendors are available at minimal cost.
No dogs or alcohol or charcoal BBQ’s are permitted.
